With the track going down hill all the way into the apex, the turn being at the end of a very fast and down-hill section and the only place you can go if you are forced to the inside is across course something does need to be done for everyone's protection. Those folks know the risks but they do need and are owed better protection than that. With the bikes shutting down from 194 mph there's not much time to run and hide if you were flagging on that turn. I also think that it was a wonder that the marshals didn't suffer from this crash as Zarcos motorbike hit right at the flag station. At tracks where there are long straights if you are second in line you can back-off a wee bit and the draft will pull you along but if the guy you are following lifts or brakes it's up to you to not hit him and they do lift or brake at times just to pop the suction and slow you up. I sure don't think that was a brake check or anything like that I really think as soon as Zarco got by and lined up for the turn for him it was all about making the next corner.
